Dear Colleagues,

This Canvas course began as a resource for the 2014 GED test, but has evolved to include resources for High School Equivalency Preparation.

We created a shared space for instructors to find and place resources about how to prepare students for the GED, but will eventually contain resources for HiSET and TASC tests as well.

The CANVAS site has modules organized with information for teachers and also pre-made modules you can import into your courses for student use.

General Information for teachers about the 2014 GED Test – contains links and resources about all of the content areas, background to the new test and rationale.
Computer Literacy- because the test is delivered on the computer, it is essential to teach computer literacy skills.
Registration and Requirements for computerized testing.
Professional development – contains conferences, links, and webinars
Materials and Resources for each content area importable into your Canvas sites for students: Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science.

We realize that there are many links to go through; however, if you are trying to import content into your courses for students, many of the content specific modules are helpful.

The professional development newsletter and links by CDE in the professional development module would be a good place to begin if you are new to the field and need to understand the test and content.

Feel free to add content for other instructors to use. We should be consistent with how we place information so that it is easy for each of us to use. Please create a new assignment under the appropriate module, write a brief explanation of the material you are adding, and use hyperlinks to send us to the appropriate sites.
